blimey!

so i've been reading don quixote...oh for the last frickin' month or so...

sod it, this is a HUGE book!

see, i had no idea because i have been laboring under the illusion all these years that i had already read it...ha ha ha, yeah not so much...

so when i realized i hadn't already read it i got all sweaty and anxious and went to the library straight away!! (sorry, i've read three books in a row set in the u.k....all jammy dodgers and fags and the like)...

um, yeah, it's 940 pages!!...blimey!!

so i'm a good bit into it and i LOVE it...it's funny and tragic and everything i thought it was when i thought i had already read it...

BUT i simply can't finish it...at least not in one sitting...it's gonna have to be a bits and pieces kinda thing...

which kinda bums me out...without acting all clever clogs i mean i am an avid and voracious reader and it is one of the classics...and yet the decision to not finish it in one sitting makes me doubt my intelligence...

i'm no rocket scientist, but i think i'm a fairly intelligent bird...i mean i do the crossword in pen for bloody sakes!!...sure, sure, it's the people magazine crossword but that lot can be HARD!

(note to self, knock off the brit lit for awhile)

seriously, it's not about content but about length...that cervantes had some serious time on his hands...

but, i encourage any of you who haven't read it to do so...it's worth it even if you only read a bit...

and if anyone can adequately explain to me what exactly a *jammy dodger* is i'd be perfectly sorted and bob's your uncle!
